The Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (CCB) announced that it will simplify procedures in order to promote initiatives to create a favorable environment for the creation and operation of companies in the capital, with the aim of facilitating and stimulating entrepreneurship.

During 2022, the CCB, in partnership with the municipal governments and the Administrative Department of Public Service, developed work plans to simplify **47 business-related procedures in Cajicá, Chía, Cogua, Cota, Fusagasugá, Gachancipá, La Calera, Sopó, Tenjo, Tocancipá, Ubaté and Zipaquirá.**

Ana María Fergusson, Vice President of Public-Private Partnerships at the CCB, stated that the organization provides technical assistance and support to municipal governments to implement actions to simplify procedures and processes to help the region's business community in the creation and operation of their companies.

“We invite you to continue working together between the public sector and the region's businesses to streamline procedures and incorporate new municipalities into the strategy, generating greater economic growth and increasing the productivity and competitiveness of Bogotá and Cundinamarca,” the vice president stated.

To monitor and support businesses, the CCB regularly conducts the Great Survey. This time, in the case of the region, it was administered to 175 business owners. **According to the latest results, 50% of businesses are less than five years old. In 33% of cases, women make the main business decisions. 72% of businesses have up to three employees.**

Regarding marketing channels, the most used are WhatsApp (58%), social media (50%), and websites (37%). 51% of business owners have annual sales of less than $10 million; 22% have sales between $10 million and $50 million; and 27% have sales exceeding $50 million. 56% of businesses have debt, and 43% have defaulted on their payments.

The entity asserts that the biggest challenge is related to accounting management, considering that 63% keep accounts, and of those, 35% do so with an accountant, 44% the owner of the company, 9% hire a company and 10% have an accounting area.
